Shanghai Bund Dawn
Junks with dark batwing sails drift past a moored liner on the Huangpu as a silvered airliner streaks over the Bund's Deco towers, the whole scene lit by vertical ribbons of jade, tangerine and cobalt dawn. A coated figure watches from the jetty, case at his feet, scarlet funnel-smoke curling into the colour. Painted in bold lithographic bands of saturated hue, it crackles with the energy of a harbour waking up. Electric and graphic - a statement wall for a room that likes its colour turned all the way up.
