Bombay Gateway Monsoon
A linen-suited traveller waits on the bund as a paddle steamer puffs lilac smoke past the Gateway of India and the floodlit domes of the Taj hotel, palms thrashing against a bruised pre-monsoon sky. Rendered in rich screen-print purples and warm sandstone golds, the piece holds that charged stillness before the rains break over the harbour. A wrought-iron lamp burns against the dark. Lush, humid, theatrical - a wall that wants the heat and grandeur of the Arabian Sea waterfront the moment before the storm.
A few ideas:
- A name or initials worked into the lettering, signage or kit number.
- A short dedication or date tucked into the composition.
- A swapped detail — your pet in the scene, your home town in the destination, a partner's number on the back.
