Hundreds of silk lanterns blaze magenta, tangerine, lime and cobalt above a hushed cobbled lane in Hoi An, their colour pooling on the canal beyond the old footbridge. A carved wooden balcony, a leaning bicycle and a blush scarf slung over the rail anchor the foreground. Painted in glowing vintage-poster strokes, the lamplight feels almost warm to the touch. An evening you can step back into, made for a hallway that wants the spice of the lantern festival year-round.
