Evening on the Douro, with Porto's stacked terracotta houses and the great iron Dom Luis bridge catching the last amber light. A rabelo boat laden with port barrels glides past while, on a quayside table, a bottle of tawny port pours into two glasses beside a plate of toasted almonds and a folded linen napkin. Rendered in the bold flat colour and clean line of classic travel lithography. Unhurried, golden, generous. A piece for slow evenings and anyone who believes a view deserves a good glass.
